Harrison Steel is accepting applications for several Cleaning Room Lead positions. The Lead runs all aspects of a production area or line, in the supervisor's absence, and then works a production job for the remainder of the shift. Regular duties include managing daily schedules and people. Knowledge areas include how to define and create schedules, the flow of castings and steps to the process of creating a casting, and all Cleaning Room routings.
A high school diploma or equivalency is required, and at least one year related experience and/or training. The individual will report to a Cleaning Room Line Supervisor. Excellent communication ability is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Runs the line, in the absence of the Line Supervisor
- Regular duties as a fork truck driver and understanding of product flow, freeing up supervisors' times for other duties. Some work in Heat Treat and running the Blast, significant work in troubleshooting casting issues and knowledge of part numbers, and teamwork with Process Engineer
- Fork truck license; crane experience, in previous positions or in on-the-job training
- Obtains supplies for employees
- Reports equipment problems to Maintenance
- Prints and follows the schedule, communicates issues back to management
- Mentors employees, contacts a supervisor for disciplinary issues
- Significant cross training is expected
- Competency in use of computer systems, including our time and attendance system (Kronos) and our work request system (INFOR). Leads who work Day Shift use Reverse Scheduler to supervise flow of upgrade work in the building.
- Understand all rules, regulations and policies of Harrison Steel
- Basic ability with mathematics. Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred, not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate in the office and loud in the Cleaning Room. Our Production buildings are not climate controlled. Temperatures reach 100 degrees inside the facility on many summer days and drop well below 40 degrees in the winter. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
