Summary: Operates fork trucks between 10,000-25,000 pounds to provide services for the assigned work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transports castings within the assigned work area safely and efficiently according to the process plan from operation, ensuring operators have castings to work.
  • Empties dust collector and waste hoppers when required.
  • Operates fork truck daily and reports any problem to supervision using the fork truck report.
  • Empties dust collectors and waste bins on assigned line.
  • Wears required safety equipment.
  • Follows job work instructions and training matrix, where applicable.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:

High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Certificates and Licenses:

Fork truck license

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
